QSR magazine even thinks mobile only restaurants are in our near future: https://www.qsrmagazine.com/outside-insights/vision-restaurants-future Subway needed to explore a “kiosk-in-a-box” solution for those restaurants who, due to their own unique needs, could benefit from adding a self service in-store kiosk to their operations. Over a few short weeks, we worked closely with Subway’s technology, marketing and operations teams to design, build and pilot a low cost solution that is fully integrated with Subway’s store systems and operational processes. During this time Agilitee conducted direct research with franchisees, in-store staff and with consumers as part of its UX and design process. These findings informed the architecture, development and systems integration recommendations Agilitee used to design, build, integrate and launch the solution. The Subway Kiosk in a Box was launched allowing consumers to browse the menu, configure a sandwich, order, pay and pick up their food without having to interact with Sandwich Artists. With the success of the pilot and with positive feedback from franchisees, store personal and from Subway’s customers, we’re proud that the new the self-service kiosk solution is now available to all 26,000 Subway restaurants as part of the restaurant’s Fresh Forward redesign efforts.
